Pre-orders are up for The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die / Code Orange Kids / Self Defense Family / Tigers Jaw split 7"

Today we've got a pre-order up for a record that's been in the works for the better part of a year (rather publicly, actually). It ought to be worth the wait though, with tracks from The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to DieCode Orange Kids, Self Defense Family & Tigers Jaw and artwork from Kimi Hanauer (who has a fantastic knack for mixed media / digital collage).

The record features a track from each band and will be released via Topshelf Records / Run For Cover Records on April 23, 2013 (with each label having an exclusive, limited variant of the record available). As of the time of my writing this, the only song available to hear is Self Defense Family's "Holy Trend" which you can stream now on Revolver Magazine's website.

Pre-order the record in the Topshelf Records store.

Topshelf & Code Orange Kids

Man, Code Orange Kids have a lot going on right now. The band is currently on tour, just announced that they’ll be releasing their next full length album with Deathwish later in 2012 and now we’re happy to announce that we’ll be releasing a split with them and Full of Hell.

Deathwish had this to say (and because, frankly, I am not good with words while hungover on Saturday morning, I feel content to let this largely speak our sentiments as well):

Fresh out of high school and with an average age of 18 years old, Pennsylvania’s Code Orange Kids remind us of our own embryonic days in the aggressive music scene. They do things their way, creatively cutting their own path through it all. Unconcerned with the direction of other artists, their brand of gritty hardcore/punk is simply refreshing to hear. Merging cryptic melody, dirty hardcore power, and intense dirges into their own uniquely inspired sound.

Code Orange Kids recently released their [seriously] fantastic Cycles 7” EP on our good friend Bob’s label, Mayfly Records.

Lastly, Code Orange Kids are on tour now in the U.S. with Xerxes, dates are below:

  • 01/26: Fresno, CA @ China Youth Center w/ Xerxes
  • 01/27: Sacramento, CA @ The Dough Joe w/ Xerxes
  • 01/28: Santa Rosa, CA @ Transient Lounge w/ Xerxes
  • 01/29: Portland, OR @ Punk Tank w/ Xerxes

  • 01/31: Boise, ID @ Studio 9 w/ Xerxes
  • 02/01: Salt Lake City, UT @ TBA w/ Xerxes
  • 02/02: Denver, CO @ Blast-O-Mat w/ Xerxes
  • 02/03: Kansas City, MO @ Asshole Castle w/ Xerxes
  • 02/04: Omaha, NE @ TBA w/ Xerxes
  • 02/05: Cedar Fall, IA @ 1108 House w/ Xerxes
  • 02/06: Peoria, IL @ Washington Illinois VFW w/ Xerxes
