With four EPs under their belts, few bands have as expansive a catalog going into the release of their debut LP, but today's the day Diamond Youth finally unveil the details for their FIRST full length album. Pre-orders for the new LP Nothing Matters are up now! — and you can have a listen to a new song "Thought I Had It Right" over on BrooklynVegan.
In the US, Labor Day weekend basically is the first sign that summer is on its way out — everything starts getting pumpkin this and apple that. We wanna send it off with one last hurrah. If the 85-degree forecast for Boston's weekend is any indicator, I think it's safe to say we'll all be in a body of water this Labor Day weekend.
We're trying to make a new video for Diamond Youth's "Cannonball" and you can be in it by simply finding the nearest cliff, ledge, deck, diving board, garage roof, or whatever else you can find and film you and some friends jumping — cannonballing — into some water, posting it on instagram and tagging it #DYcannonball. We'll use every video that gets posted for the music video (make sure your account is set to public or we won't be able to see it!).
Diamond Youth full US tour in support of Make Do and Mend, Cheap Girls
Now that Diamond Youth's fantastic EP Orangeis out in the world, the band will be hitting the road a ton in the coming months in support of it. Be sure to catch them with Cheap Girls & Make Do and Mend this summer!
Orange, recorded by Brian Mcternan (Circa Survive, Hot Water Music, The Movielife) is the follow up to the band’s well-received official debut, Don’t Lose Your Cool, recorded by Paul Leavitt (Circa Survive, All Time Low). We've been listening to it for months now and it's so damn catchy. We're pretty jazzed to finally start to get it out there for all of you! Below are just some of the packages available:
I think I'm supposed to tell you that other people besides us like it too:
“'Cannonball' carries a sound reminiscent of grunge’s glory days, but at the same time produces a fresh, poppy drive… The song’s sinister vibe possesses a certain Queens of The Stone Age poise.”
The band will be playing a record release show for Orange on January 19th with label mates Have Mercy as well as Koji, Turnover and more. Everyone who buys a ticket gets a free copy of the album as well! Check out the Event page for that with all the info.
We are extremely excited to share with everyone the newest addition to the family, Diamond Youth. The guys are currently in the studio with Brian McTernan recording their next EP that we will be releasing early next year.
Heavily influenced by “90's alternative music, skateboarding, and girls,” and such bands as Weezer, Foo Fighters, QOTSA and the Beach Boys, Diamond Youth will be touring this fall with Misser and Young Statues.
