Additionally, People Like You have a new video for “Variations on an Aria” up on BrooklynVegan! It focuses on the theme of family and celebrates the varying backgrounds of the members of the band, resulting in an incredibly heart-warming and personal visual accompaniment to the song.
You may have heard the singles "Variations on an Aria" and "Thumbnail," but starting today you can stream the entirety of People Like You's new album "Verse." This acclaimed Boston five-piece blends instrumental jazz and emo in a beautiful way, sprinkling it with inspiration from the Kinsella projects American Football and Joan of Arc. Through the intricate melodies and thoughtful lyrics, "Verse" explores topics including personal growth and fitting in. Stereogum even claims it is "unsurprising that the music has both a calming and wistful affect on the listener." We hope you enjoy this album as much as we do. You can also hear the songs live at a show near you during People Like You's July tour.

Boston five-piece People Like You premiered their new single "Thumbnail" via Stereogum, who call the track "sweet yet melancholy in nature." The song mixes a matching vocal/trumpet melody and soft but catchy guitar riffs, all of which are carried by buoyant drum beats.
The bouncy, jazz-infused track is the second single off the band's upcoming album Verse, which you can pre-order here.

People Like You premiered “Variations On an Aria” in tangent with an announcement for their second full-length LP, Verse, via Allston Pudding. Serving as a tribute to his Puerto Rican heritage, the song depicts guitarist Chris Lee-Rodriguez navigating cultural disconnect faced by immigrants, such as his mother. Pitchfork acclaims the track, calling it an “exercise in wondering how you fit in—a theme that all emo depends on, and that People Like You portray with a distinctly wise point-of-view.”
The visceral recreation of loneliness sends shockwaves through its audience and reveals the band’s ability to find a niche within what Pitchfork refers to as “the emo catalog.” Gold Flake Paint describes the tone of the track as “tender, but never timid, elegant but still forceful.”
