Pre-orders for We Were Skeletons' "Blame & Aging" // Fall tour dates!

image

With the musical prowess and aggression of bands like Fugazi and Shotmaker, We Were Skeletons’ unique brand of technical, groovy, and emotional hardcore should appeal to long-time fans of the genre while still pushing its boundaries. Imagine Hot Snakes, Slint, Sleepytime Trio, mewithoutYou and Off Minor all rolled into one breathtaking statement — and I'm not just saying that. I never just say that. But still, to reiterate: I'm not just saying that.

Blame & Aging is a record that one-ups anything and everything this band has ever done and is the band's best collection of songs to date (trust us, we've known them for a while). Featuring 13 awesome new tracks, Blame & Aging will be released on October 22nd everywhere. Order it in the Topshelf store now!

Absolutepunk has premiered "Disease Artist", the sixth track from the record over on their site. Go give it a spin!

Additionally, the band will be hitting the road with Joint Chiefs of Math on an east coast stint that'll take them to and from Fest 11. Dates and info are below. Facebook event page is here.

New Split EP's from We Were Skeletons

We Were Skeletons

Putting out records from your friends' bands is just the best! So, we're really extremely excited to announce that we will be releasing two brand new split EP's for Lancaster, PA's We Were Skeletons in early 2011. Topshelf released the band's latest full length self-titled effort in June of this year on both CD and vinyl.

Each EP will be a split with another band and released on digital and vinyl formats. The first EP released will be with Maryland's MИЩa (pronounced "mee-sh-uh") and will be a co-released effort between Black With Sap Records and Topshelf Records. The second EP will be shared with Boston's The Saddest Landscape and will be released solely by Topshelf Records. The Saddest Landscape released You Will Not Survive earlier this year as well as a split 9 inch with Pianos Become The Teeth.

We Were Skeletons / Rooftops Pre-orders

New Signing:

Sheesh, what a busy month! We are completely elated to announce the signing of Lancaster, PA's We Were Skeletons. We'll release the band's newest effort, a self-titled album on June 29th on both LP and CD formats. Look for pre-orders to begin around the first of May. The band's brand of screamy, chaotic hardcore should appeal to long-time fans of the genre. The album was recorded with Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Ampere) at Dead Air Studios and is their greatest accomplishment to date. Imagine City of Caterpillar, Kidcrash, Off Minor and Hot Cross, all rolled into one breathtaking statement. We've been listening to it non-stop for months now. Basically on repeat. It rules. The art looks killer too. Nice guys to boot (backed hard). We're excited!

The band will be playing MACRoCk this upcoming weekend and also has several April shows lined up with label mates Pianos Become The Teeth (see below).

APR 03 - Harrisonburg, VA @ MACRoCk – The Artful Dodger w/ Algernon Cadwallader, Native, more
APR 09 - Reading, PA @ Roop Hall (Albright College) w/ Pianos Become The Teeth, Spraynard
APR 10 - Windsor, CT @ Chris Z's House w/ Pianos Become The Teeth, Grown Ups
APR 11 - Newton, NJ @ The Farm House w/ Pianos Become The Teeth, Black Kites
APR 16 - Bethlehem, PA @ Secret Art Space w/ Gods & Queens, Drowning With Our Anchors
APR 23 - Newark, DE @ University of Deleware w/ Paint It Black
APR 24 - Frederick, MD @ Fredrock Free Music Fest
