We're Five Years Old!

image

When Seth & I started this label five years ago we never really imagined where we would go with it. Along the way we’ve had some serious ups and downs, put out some fantastic records made by our friends, met some great people and subsequently made life-long friendships. We could get real long-winded and sappy here, but we’ve got more work to do ;).

To thank you all for helping us get this far, we’ve made a bunch of releases from our back catalog available for free. Just tweet from this page and you’ll unlock a page with a link to download them all.

Thanks so much and here’s to another five!

-Seth & Kev

Welcome Coping & The Clippers!

We are extremely excited to announce two new additions to our growing roster. Coping (Chicago, IL) and The Clippers (Boston, MA) have teamed up to release a split 7 inch / Digital EP in late March with us. The EP will feature two brand new tracks from each band and is up for pre order from us right now. The first pressing will be limited to 500 and split between Black, Gold, Green, and White vinyl.

The Clippers, who are a two piece band, formed in September of last year and have been steadily gaining fans since with their high energy infectious pop rock. Coping, who is better known for their emo/punk upbeat janglyness (wut?), released a six-song cassette in September of last year. Both bands will be hitting the road together in April in support of the release.

Punknews.org will be streaming The Clippers debut EP An Evening With... today at 4PM EST to coincide with the pre order. Also, Al (drummer for The Clippers) and Myself (Kevin) will be on WRBB 104.9FM from 4PM - 6PM EST debuting a few new tracks from the EP along with plenty of other stuff. Tune in!

My Heart To Joy "Reasons To Be" pre orders are up!

My Heart To Joy - Reasons To Be art

Topshelf Records and My Heart To Joy. Like bread & butter, baby. After what seems like forever, Connecticut’s premiere pop-sensible twinkle daddies have some new material!

We are stoked to be announcing My Heart To Joy’s newest EP, Reasons To Be. The 3-song release was originally recorded this spring and is now finally being released. Reasons To Be is the band’s follow up to their critically acclaimed full length Seasons In Verse which was a joint release between ourselves and Asbestos Records last year. My Heart To Joy takes cues from Braid, Guided By Voices and Saves The Day on this release to produce their most clean sounding album yet.

The album will be available digitally and on vinyl. Vinyl is limited to 500 (100 White, 150 Light Blue, 250 Black) and each pre order comes with an immediate download of the album. We're also doing a test press contest wherein one lucky person who pre orders will receive a free test pressing of Reasons To Be. The digital version of Reasons To Be is available for purchase now at iTunes and other digital retailers.
